Part 1 - The ’’Schlep Vette’’

Nicknamed "Schlep Vette" when we first saw our project, you can see the wear and tear from a long period of neglect. A typical parts car on first glance.

"Schlep" was languishing in an apartment complex parking lot for about 6 years according to the previous owner. He was "going to restore it someday" (the same old story). A shame really... still, the odometer showed 82,000 miles, and the overall condition looked good on closer inspection,(hmmm, maybe we won’t part it out).

The "last straw" for the owner to sell it was an unlucky encounter with a UPS truck, causing damage to the right rear quarter panel. The outer body was cracked and the quarter panel was torn from it’s support underneath. Ouch!
